Advice On Matching Jeans And Footwear

Choosing footwear to go with jeans can be a bit tricky. Jeans are a classic look for men & can go with just about anything but you do have to be careful about your choices when comes to shoes. Not only color but style matters too when pairing footwear with jeans and course you always want both to go with whatever top you are wearing too. The following are some tips how to choose footwear that will look perfect with your jeans:

Sneakers are a good fit when comes to jeans but try to avoid gym sneakers. These are fine if you are going for a walk playing tennis or working out at the gym but for casual attire when out the town is best to leave them at home. Gym shoes as casual wear was a popular 90 s look but has been a long time since then.

Street sneakers however work well with a casual outfit & jeans. Sneakers that are suede or have a leather look to them that either lace up or use velcro are good & they do differ quite significantly from gym sneakers.

Loafers are another good shoe to pair with jeans. They are a more dressy shoe that look great when paired with a button-down shirt but they slip so are still casual looking at the same time. They are suitable to wear for a wide variety social situations.

Do not mix your darks & lights. The color your shoes needs to complement your clothing not contrast. If you are wearing a pair dark colored jeans then pick shoes that are black or dark brown. Lighter colored jeans like acid wash should be worn with lighter colored shoes.

Do wear flip flops or sandals the summer. Nothing says summer casual better then a simple pair sandals or flip flops. Matched with a pair cropped jeans & a comfy t-shirt & you are ready for a relaxing day. You can wear them with full length jeans if you are careful about the hem. Avoid wearing jeans where the hem drags the ground rather than just brushes otherwise you will destroy the hem & look like a mess.

Jeans & boots just seem made for each other. Pair a great set dress or casual ankle boots with your jeans & you have an instant classic. A good pair dark brown or beige suede boots with a leather or corded jacket is always a good winter look. Do not wear your work boots unless you are at work.
